WebP encoding via the Canvas API is supported in Chrome 50+, Edge 79+, Opera and Firefox 96+. Safari does not yet support WebP encoding from canvas — it silently falls back to PNG. If you need WebP output, use Chrome, Edge or Firefox. All other formats (JPG, PNG, BMP) work in every browser.
Individual files up to 50MB are supported. For very large images (above 16,384px on any side), the tool automatically scales them to fit within browser canvas limits while preserving the best possible quality.
